My partner and I run a pretty big site about American Idol. We’ve been using a few CPA offers here and there, but mostly Adsense. (It pays my partners mortgage). The part about the CPA offers that’s hard for this site is keeping up with what ones are converting, etc… Since there are a number of writers - we just need the ads built into the template.
It’s our third year of running this site, and we are getting more traffic than ever (brings the server crashing down each time the show ends) - so it was rather scary as we watched our clicks rise, and our revenue drop.
So we started on the hunt for a CPM network that accepted both a reality tv show site, and a blog. We initially tried two different places.
Glam Network and when we didn’t hear back in a timely fashion we applied to add the site to BlogHer.
Glam Network still hasn’t bothered to reply back to us (they lost the chance for about a million impressions), but we are very happy with BlogHer. We took the opportunity to re-skin the blog, and change the structure of things a bit.
The good news from a revenue standpoint is we are earning about 30 percent to 40 percent less from Adsense - but BlogHer is paying double what Adsense has.
We doubled the sites revenue, added good looking ads, and are laughing to the bank.
Looking for a small CPM network can do wonders for your site if you are getting the traffic.
