There are so many ways to advertise a new website or service that sometimes it can be totally overwhelming.  Here are some ideas, and the ups and downs.

PAY PER CLICK

Pay Per Click sounds simple right?  You pay x cents (or dollars) per click through to your website.  The problem today is quality control with the biggest PPC company out there - google.  You might start off paying 5 cents per click but end up doing more like 2 dollars (or higher) a click if you don’t pay attention and manage your quality.  There are tons of tutorials and discussions about this all over the web.  Do your research and spend a few days reading before jumping in.

Paid Links

Paid links are a problem these days as well…. unless you are just paying for traffic.  Trying to increase your Google Page Rank by buying links will probably back fire on you - so concentrate on the traffic these links can generate.  You will get some great deals by looking at links differently than most people.

SEO

Social Networks

Great place to start while you are building up your links, and it should be a part of your overall seo strategy.  Social networks are popular and will result in traffic along with links.
